Effects of topography & surface inhomogeneities on surface UV radiation

NILU are investigating the influence of topography and inhomogeneous surface albedo on surface UV irradiance at selected ground stations within EDUCE.

NILU have prepared a series of topographical maps centred on EDUCE UV measuring stations.

A description of the method applied to determine the effects of topography and surface inhomogeneities for these sites is available.

Case studies have now been completed for selected EDUCE stations (Briançon, Sonnblick and Ispra).
