Estimate of the natural level and variability of surface UVR over Belsk

The variability of surface UVR over Poland has been estimated due to real changes in the atmospheric transparency. Results of AOD measurements at Belsk by the Brewer spectrophotometer show the importance of continuous AOD observations by other Brewers. The presentation, held at the Krakow meeting, can be viewed here. A method has been proposed to determine AOD in the UVB range from standard Brewer spectrophotometer measurements of total ozone. It reliability has been confirmed and specific properties of the aerosol extinctionin the UVB are found. All results have been published in JGR.
